Client News: ROCKFON’s James B. Moynihan elected to CISCA board of directors

Moynihan, ROCKFON’s vice president and general manager for North America, joins the Ceilings & Interior Systems Construction Association (CISCA) 2014 board of directors as a manufacturer director, serving a two-year term. ROCKFON also is a Platinum Sponsor of CISCA.

Moynihan and his colleagues recently participated in the CISCA annual convention and INTEX EXPO, where they launched the unified brand: “ROCKFON® + Chicago Metallic® = Complete ceiling solutions.” Moynihan is responsible for the company’s complete line of acoustic stone wool and metal ceiling products, including its Chicago Metallic brand of ceiling suspension systems.

In 2010, Moynihan joined Chicago Metallic as vice president of sales and after three years, was promoted to general manager for the Americas. In 2013, the ROCKWOOL Group, on behalf of its ROCKFON Group affiliate, acquired Chicago Metallic. Moynihan has played a key role in the smooth integration of products and personnel, supported with a unified brand.

With 25 years of experience in sales and manufacturing, Moynihan enjoys collaborating and communicating with architects, contractors, distributors, sales teams, senior managers and CEOs. Respected as a strategic thinker and energetic leader, he balances day-to-day details with long-term objectives and technical knowledge with market insights. With an unwavering focus on meeting customers’ needs, Moynihan works closely with the ROCKFON’s North American sales, marketing, operations and engineering directors, as well as an expansive global team.

In addition to his understanding of ceiling systems, Moynihan’s professional background includes 14 years in sales and management with Allied Tube & Conduit. A division of Tyco International, the company is a market leader for patented in-line galvanized tube and pipe. While there, his positions included general manager of the Blue Island Division, and business development manager and director of marketing for the Mechanical Tube Division.

Early in his career, Moynihan worked at Steel Cities Steels’ service center as a sales representative serving the Chicagoland region and northwestern Indiana. He worked there while earning his MBA from Indiana University. He also has a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University in business administration with a marketing major.

Moynihan is a member of the American Marketing Association. ROCKFON and its staff are members of CISCA and Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industry (AWCI), as well as active participants in the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Construction Specifications Canada (CSC), Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), and the International Interior Design Association (IIDA).

Beyond his professional life, Moynihan supports his children’s baseball, basketball and soccer teams as an assistant coach. He also volunteers on Indiana’s St. John Festival committee in his community.
